Anisole alcohol is also known as p-methoxybenzyl alcohol, ani-alcohol, 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol, p-methoxybenzyl alcohol, .Soluble in alcohol and ether, almost insoluble in water, slightly soluble in propylene glycol, glycerin.Soluble in 30% ethanol at 1:13, soluble in 50% ethanol at 1:1.Exposed air is liable to oxidation.Found in vanilla bean and fennel oil, it has a sweet-smelling aroma of anise, with a slight scent of lilac flowers and beans. It is often used as a varietal of floral fragrances such as lilac, sunflower and silver winter.Also used for flower fragrance, vegetable xinlan type, sweet osmanthus flavor and cocoa, vanilla and other edible flavor, can also be made into ester spices.
