Copper sulfate is an inorganic compound. The chemical formula is CuSO?.Copper sulfate pentahydrate is a transparent dark blue crystal or powder with a solubility of 316g/l in 0℃ water. It is insoluble in ethanol and almost insoluble in most other organic solvents. It is emerald green in glycerol, slowly weathered in air, loses two molecules of crystal water (30℃) when heated, and becomes white hydrate (CuS04 · H20) when heated at 110℃. Contain impurities more yellow or green, no smell. This product has a strong corrosive effect on iron. Copper sulfate is both a fertilizer and a universal fungicide. Bordeaux liquid, copper soap liquid and copper ammonium preparation are made of copper sulfate with quicklime, soap and ammonium bicarbonate.
